Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Day Trip

Saturday 29th January 2022
Day Trip
£42 (Adult)
£15 (Child)

We depart our local pick-up points in the morning and make our way to Canterbury, a Cathedral city in southeast England which was a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages.  Stroll along the Ancient walls, originally built by the Romans that encircle the magnificent medieval centre with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses.  A lively and multinational student population adds a more youthful element, and no doubt helps to sustain a good selection of attractive pubs and a healthy café scene.  You may wish to visit the famous Canterbury Cathedral, founded in 597 A.D. which is the headquarters of the Church of England and Anglican Communion.  The architectural splendour incorporates Gothic and Romanesque elements in its stone carvings and some stunning stained-glass windows.  After a day of exploration we return to our pick-up points in the afternoon.

Please note admissions to museums and monuments are not included.
